SharpLight’s fractional resurfacing treatment is a gentle and efficient procedure that reduces a range of photoaging signs and rejuvenates the skin, producing fresh, younger looking faces, necks and hands.
These impressive results are achieved by replacing old, damaged cells with new, healthy ones and, with SharpLight’s innovative technology, this is done quickly, effectively and safely.
Our revolutionary Er:YAG laser produces a micro epidermal peel, which removes the problematic areas on the top layer of the skin. The fresh layer that grows has an improved texture, reduced or disappeared rhytids, wrinkles, scarring, spots and an overall renewed radiance.
The Fractional Er:YAG laser allows the practitioner to select the strength (7x7 or 9x9) and depth to adapt to the patients’ needs, making each treatment personalized.
Long-lasting results are usually achieved within 1 to 3 relatively short treatment sessions, making it time and cost efficient.

HOW IT WORKS:
The Fractionated Erbium:YAG laser creates microscopic channels in your skin. This triggers the wound healing response and stimulates fibroblast activity, which in turn leads to the production of new collagen and elastin. The array of micro beams allows for deep tissue ablation and a short healing time.
7x7 Grid: Penetrates deeper, recommended for secondary appointments and moderate to severe signs of aging.
9x9 Grid: Less energy per dot allows for a superficial ablation of tissues. This setting is recommended for first treatments, maintenance and mild to moderate signs of aging.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Please read the before and after treatment instructions carefully.
You may wish to have someone drive you to your appointment and pick you up afterwards. Especially if you are getting your face and neck treated.
You will likely be red and swollen for 3-7 days post treatment. Please plan time off from work and activities accordingly.
Your skin will be very sensitive to soaps and chemicals post treatment. Please have your post treatment products ready before your treatment. You will likely not want to go to the store after your treatment.

BEFORE YOUR TREATMENT:
It is highly recommended that you apply a 5% lidocaine numbing cream to the treatment area 1 hour prior to your appointment time. We will remove it prior to your treatment.
Please arrive to your appointment with clean product free skin. No lotions, oils, makeup or deodorant on area(s) to be treated.
- Discontinue Accutane 6 months prior.
- Discontinue Retinoic Acid products 2 weeks prior.
- Avoid sun exposure including tanning beds and fake tanner for 4-8 weeks prior.
- Report all skin diseases, viruses, infections, cold sores, eczema or allergies to your laser technician.
- Do not exfoliate, use glycolic acid, benzyl peroxide or any skin irritants for 1 week prior.
- Avoid microdermabrasion or peels for 2 weeks prior. Notify your laser technician if these kind of treatments have been performed within 3 weeks prior to treatment.
- Do not use sunblock for 12hrs before appointment.
- Do not wax, sugar, pluck, thread or use hair removal creams before or between treatments.
- If the skin is red burned or irritated the appointment must be rescheduled.
- Avoid alcohol 48 hours prior to treatment.
AFTER YOUR TREATMENT:
Post treatment products needed:
- Antibiotic ointment - Polysporin Cream (blue container)
- Gentle soap free cleanser - Colorescience Barrier Pro Cleanser
- Gentle soothing moisture cream - Colorescience Barrier Pro Moisturizer
- SPF 50+ product - Colorescience Face Shield, Face Shield FLEX or No Show
- Avoid direct sunlight, tanning beds or fake tanners for 2-3 weeks.
- Use a SPF 50+ sun protective cream 15 min prior to sun exposure. Keep reapplying as needed throughout the day. We recommend Colorescience Face Shield or Face Shield FLEX.
- Apply sterile cold packs/compresses to the treated area for 15min post treatment and as needed in the following hours.
- It is recommended to apply antibiotic ointment to prevent infection. We recommend Polysporin cream.
- Until the skin is healed, wash face with a soap free cleanser. We recommend Colorescience Barrier Pro Cleanser.
- If there are scabs or blisters, makeup should not be used for 4-5 days.
- For at least 3 weeks post treatment do not use harsh topical exfoliations, glycolic acid, benzyl peroxide or acne creams.
- Avoid touching, rubbing, peeling or picking of the skin as this may cause hyper/hypo-pigmentation, infection or scaring.
- Gently apply soothing creams/moisturizers when Polysporin is no longer required. We recommend Colorescience Barrier Pro Moisturizer and Total Eye Cream.
- Avoid hot baths, hot tubs and saunas for 1 week after treatment.
- When showering and washing be very gentle and pat to dry. Do not rub.
- Avoid swimming in strong chlorinated water for 1 week.
- Avoid strenuous exercise for 24-48hrs.
- Avoid alcohol for 48 hrs post treatment.
